At the early age of twelve, Allen Brown began singing at dance halls, private parties, bar rooms and various venues throughout Texas. “Momma prayed countless number of prayers and spent unselfish, sleepless nights while Dad always believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself.” Family support gave Allen the confidence to follow his lifelong dreams.
Influenced by country greats such as Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr., Keith Whitley and others Allen decided in 2004, to leave his small East Texas home of Gun Barrell City and move to Nashville to pursue being a singer songwriter. Initially, his goal was to write for other artists but several Nashville notables encouraged Allen to embrace his passion for singing. Allen says he finds an emotional and spiritual uplift in the power of a song. “To write a song is a story I want to share with my fans. To walk out on stage and leave the crowd smiling at the end of the night is the ultimate.”
As his reputation grew, Allen was soon opening for some of Nashville’s finest such as Tanya Tucker, The Marshall Tucker Band, John Anderson and many more. While honing his skills Allen crisscrossed the country from Tennessee to North Carolina, Iowa to Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas playing fairs, festivals and rodeos. I guess one might say Allen’s life is a country song.
