Andrew Delaney
Singer/Songwriter Andrew Delaney was born and raised in Houston, Texas. His family was heavily involved in the Houston Rodeo where a young, impressionable Andrew met countless cowboys and big name country acts every year. "After my mom moved us to Dallas I'd still go down to Houston at rodeo season and live with my grandmother and my aunt and uncle in a motor home in the Astrodome parking lot. It was a month of rodeo and country music and carnival every single day. I lived for it" says Andrew. He spent his teens in various blues and rock bands but came back to his country roots when he started focusing on songwriting. "I wasn't listening to country anymore but I was writing it. It sort of killed the rock group I was in at the time. After that I went looking for the music I was missing." What he found were the likes of Steve Earle, James McMurtry, Tom Waits, and Townes Van Zandt; plus old blues records and folk songs; and newer artists like Corb Lund and Hayes Carll.
