Chad Johnson
With charisma and passion, Chad Johnson and Down 1450 are definitely a band you don't want to miss. Including a powerful live show and a sophomore album in the works, their sound is making an impact across Texas. Chad Johnson was born and raised in the "Music Capital", Austin, Texas. Being a singer/songwriter has been a lifelong ambition for him. In 2000, he headed to Lubbock, TX where he started the band with childhood friend Garrett Morgan. They began playing shows in a barn down farm road 1450, and it was there that the band Chad Johnson and Down 1450 was born. After establishing the band and a presence in West Texas, Chad headed back to Austin and his roots. Today, the band Down 1450, consists of Bobby Bowlin (Alaska/Oregon) on fiddle, Jared Smith (Mertzon, TX) on lead guitar, Mark Evans (Austin, TX) on drums, and Tayt Todd (Cedar Hill, TX) on bass guitar. The bond and friendship between Chad and his band is unique to the rest. In August of 2009, the band started recording their sophomore album with producer Mack Damon. Everyone is anxiously awaiting the release. Until then, you can see them in bars, dance halls, festivals and anywhere a good time is be had! See you down the road...
