Holly Hicks is a Texas grown southern belle who has an extreme passion for singing and songwriting. Her love for music is evident throughout her songs with captivating vocal skills and her real depth for songwriting. She has that girl-next door likeability, daddy’s sweetheart and how Holly puts it “I’m just your Blue Jean kind of girl.”
Growing up close to the worlds famous Fort Worth Stockyards and Billy Bob’s it wasn’t hard for her to catch the fever for music. “I grew up on the stage dancing, talent shows, singing in church and fell in love with performing” says Hicks. She attended Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, TX, majoring in music and minored in business. In her freshmen year her father bought her first guitar and this is when she learned her passion for songwriting.
“Singing and songwriting is who I am” says Holly, “Because of my songwriting I feel like I can share what’s deep inside my heart.” In 2009 Holly got the opportunity to work with Jeffery Steele at his songwriter’s boot camp. “Words, cannot describe this experience,” she says, “Jeffery is an amazing songwriter and phenomenal mentor. I truly feel blessed to have had that opportunity as well as it has made me a stronger songwriter.”
