Born in Marrero, Louisiana but raised the majority of his life in Houston, Texas and surrounding areas, John has a melting pot of influences when it comes to cooking up some good music. As John would say, “I’m a Texan seasoned with some Cajun spice.” He must be right because he recently was awarded 2018 Texas Country Music Awards, Cajun Country Artist of the Year, a category highlighting Country Artists with a Cajun flair in their live shows.
In just a few months after the release of John's first single, he has attracted attention from the Texas Music Scene in rapid fire fashion. From charting in the Top 75 chart right out the gate, media reviews both from the US and Europe, winning at the TCMA Music Awards, currently has received almost 100,000 streams from various digital music sites, and recently in January 2019 signing his first record label deal. John is an artist you want to keep track of. 2019 is sure to be a break out stellar year!
Starting out in music at the age of 14, John paid his dues in Texas honky tonks while improving his proficiency in the craft of making music. Sometimes life can throw some wicked curve balls. Some you hit out of the park, and with some you strike out. John is no stranger to both. The momentum train was gathering steam with John’s debut album “Simple Life,” reaching the Top 40 on Texas Music Charts. Acquiring a distribution deal and opening shows for some country music stars and headlining his own shows, John’s music showed progress. Ah, but those curve balls kept coming. Along with other life events, and the surprising news of John’s deployment to Afghanistan in 2015, brought his music train to a halt when John left to serve his country. However, John has always been a fighter and with a no quit attitude decided to saddle up once more.
Reforming his band after returning home, John started performing again and quickly gathered notice by venues, and new and returning fans. Recently John has been opening shows for music legends such as Jo-El Sonnier, T. Graham Brown, and hot Texas Country artists such as Kyle Park, JB and the Moonshine Band, and Ray Johnston Band. Once again, John has his sights on the charts and music redemption. Returning to the studio, John has recently finished recording his first full length studio album, “Moments Like This,” with Grammy award winning producer Robb Tripp.
