If you ask Jonathan how he describes his music his answer would be, "real country with a edge." Born in Decatur, AL Jonathan grew up with strong background listening to country music. At a young age he began singing in talent shows and basically singing everywhere he went. At age eleven Jonathan's parents moved him to Crosby, TX and then at age 13 to Dayton, TX. He excelled in school where he played sports, exhibited cattle and swine in the Future Farmers of America and sang in the choir. Still singing at local talent shows or school choir competitions, Jonathan knew what he was destined to do for a living. Although stars such as Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, Charlie Pride, Garth Brooks, and George Strait influenced Jonathan's music choices heavily, he also enjoyed listening to southern rock. Predominately the music from Lynard Skynard gave Jonathan his love for the edge of rock n' roll. While growing up in Texas, the style of Texas Country Music was introduced to Jonathan and he fell in love with the rockin' country music of Cross Canadian Ragweed, Whiskey Myers, and the Eli Young Band. It wasn't until after high school, while attending a Eli Young Band performance in college at Sam Houston State University, that Jonathan decided that life was too short to not use the God given talents he had been given and chase a dream. He began learning how to play chords on a acoustic guitar his grandpa bought him and putting the art of writing to work. Soon, Jonathan began playing songs for friends, family, and anyone that would listen. It wasn't long until he began searching for band members and began booking performances at local venues close to home. Jonathan's performances seem to be an instant hit in his hometown and he soon was a household name in his hometown and surrounding cities. After one year of hard work, with the band thriving and the venues being filled with fans, Jonathan released his first EP that included six hits written by Jonathan and his brother Joseph. Immediately, songs like "Harris County Jail", "I Dont Wanna Sleep", "Ties That Bind", "Forever King A Crown", and "Hills In Huntsville" were becoming very popular at every venue Jonathan played. With the instant success in only one short year and the newly released EP bringing success to the second year, Jonathan is now eagerly anticipating his release of his first full length album that he is hoping will move him up the ladder and bring the third year in the business even more success. All it will take to fall in love with the voice and performance of Jonathan is to attend a live performance and witness the natural talent and the love of the music in his performance.
