In mid 2006, Moira Red was a concept drawn together to create a multi-genre band that would intercept and intrigue a wide variety of fan-base due to an indiscriminate selection of music. The idea to create such a project was that if there is consistently a little bit of everything for everyone, that all walks of people could enjoy music together as a whole. The idea and process its self would span across the next 4 years in its making. By 2010, Moira Red was secured with its key players; all as different in their musical influence as the band was to be as a whole entity. There was singer (Brandon Mills) and guitarist (Troy Pierceall), who played in a progressive/heavy rock band named Drezden. Then there was Bassist (Trey Dion) and Keyboard player (Dustin Bowen) from the Shreveport, LA band The Sun-kissed Barrelabisca. Rounded out by (Larry Wright Jr.), the drummer of another Shreveport cult-favorite band known as Porcelain Arms. The next step from there was taking the music written and collaborating it with a lengthy in-depth story that consisted of several characters that could fit across the several different genres of music. The concept fit to express different views of emotion from the eyes of different people; much like life itself. The story itself would span multiple albums and EP’s alike using melodic progressive music and sultry/anthem like vocals to portray what is actually a very dark and brutal story. “As a writer, I wanted to take the approach to make something beautiful out of something horrible. The music itself is lively, catchy, and sometimes funky and poised. Yet the lyrical content is very dark and aggressive; borderline offensive even. But it’s about serial-killer who finds redemption through human connection with another broken soul… something beautiful from something horrible.” - - Brandon Mills - - All this taken in, Moira Red won the Battle of the Bands in Shreveport 2010 and proceeded to work with Brady Blade at Blade Studios and cut a demo that carried them into the interest of other producers and investors over the next year. In 2012, they began to record their debut album LIKE WOLVES, which was released mid 2013. The album itself, officially begins the story concept that is based off the series of novels covering the first 1/3 of the first novel to be released in the present future; also titled LIKE WOLVES. In between, there are also a series of EP’s that are to be released before the 2nd album; all story related. All that can be said is that they consist of 2 styles yet presented; digital and acoustic. Moira Red looks forward to seeing you soon and appreciates the support in this long endeavored project. Thanks to you all for your love.
