Craig King(Jimi Hendrix)Craig began his playing career in grade school with the trumpet which he earned “All City” status. During this period he met and played with Dizzy Gillespie. This fueled his desire to learn more about music. While in high school he got his first guitar and started to develop his vocal and songwriting talents . Mr King has fronted or played in several bands over the years, playing in clubs and bars, or doing opening act features for national acts coming through Pittsburgh. Some of these included B.B. King, The S.O.S. Band, Con Funk Shun, Molly Hatchett, Bernard Allison, Carl Weathersby, Jimmy Vaughn and the fabulous Buddy Guy. His most memorable moments were playing with George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic with his friend Billy “Bass” Nelson and backing up Martha Reeves and the Vandella’s. Craig plays the part of Jimi Hendrix like no other. The style the speech, the dress, the actions. There is only 1 Jimi Hendrix copy and that is CRAIG KING.
Ron Martel (Mitch Mitchell) Ron began is playing career in jr. high school. All through his school years honing is craft with many hours of practice. He played with many different groups through his school years. Once graduating from school he set out to seek his future in the music buisness. Not long on the road he was offered a job to play with Charlie Pride. Unfortunately that was not the music direction he wanted to take but it wasn't long after that he landed a job with Jack Eli (lead singer of the KIngsmen...Louie Louie fame.) Playing with Jack for some time it was time to make a change. He became the drummer for the Coasters and The Drifters for many years. Then he became the lead voice for a touring Ohio Express Group. After many years of touring and working with such groups as Steppenwolf,Roy Orbison,Ohio Players,Taka Boom and many others. It was time to take his next step in the buisness becoming a manager and agent. After many years of that it was time to go back to the stage. Now being the backbone of Purple Haze.
