About The First Tee of Greater Austin: The First Tee of Greater Austin is a 501(c )(3) non-profit organization with the mission to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. This past year (our year aligns with the school year Sept. 1 – Aug. 31) was our busiest to date; we had over 1,000 youth ages 5-17 participate in our 497 classes which were hosted after-school during the fall and spring; along with camps hosted during winter, spring break and summer plus two specialty programs: LPGA-USGA Girls Golf and the Foundation Tour. In addition we had over 7,000 kids participate in our National School Program, an in-school program taught by First Tee trained physical educators who teaches boys and girls grades K-8 life skills, healthy habits and a life-time activity. One hundred percent of the kids in the program are provided some level of scholarship to participate, so as we grow so is the need for us to continue to raise money.
