Wayne Garner Band
WAYNE GARNER BAND
Wayne Garner was born and raised in southeast Oklahoma. He first started playing guitar at the age of 7 and writing songs at the age of 12. After graduating Wilburton high school he left for college on a football scholarship. While being in college Wayne performed with several bands and was even signed to Word a sub label out of Warner Bros. with the band American Drive. The band split up while in the process of recording there first album. Garner then took a five year break from music and songwriting while attending several NFL football camps. This past year his long time friend singer/songwriter Jackson Taylor became his roommate for a period of time and that got Garner deciding to get the ball rolling again. His biggest influences are a range of outstanding and legendary songwriters such as George Ducas, Buddy Holly, Steve Earle, Mike McClure, Eddie Vedder, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Billy Joe Shaver, Shooter Jennings, Dwight Yoakam, Bruce Robison, Charlie Robison, Jackson Taylor, Stoney Larue, Jason Boland, Bob Dylan, Jakob Dylan, John Rzeznik and many many more. At such a young age Wayne has packed alot of life's experiences of good times, bad times, heartaches and true loves under his hat.
