The landmark is a railroad bridge over I-10 and I-45 north of downtown Houston that a talented graffiti artist tagged with words “Be Someone." Over the years, hundreds of thousands of drivers have been greeted and inspired by the colorful graffiti art.
With the iconic Houston landmark in mind, The Powell Brothers wrote “Be Somebody.” The group wanted to capture, and expand
on, the graffiti artist’s message of making a difference in your daily life and spreading joy and love. The song expresses the human condition of wanting to succeed and do something great in this world. We all want to be somebody. The tricky part is figuring out the person you want to be and defining your own version of success. The song is written to be inspirational, motivational, and self-reflective. Who do you want to be?
