American country singer and songwriter Jason Cassidy was born in Houston, Texas, growing up in a smaller Texas town, New Caney, where his dad owned a hot rod shop and built hot rods for a living. Cassidy's first passion was building them with his father and brother. Music came calling, though, and he got a guitar at 13 with the idea of becoming a rock star. It was country music that eventually claimed his heart, however.
