281 South derived from the classic rock influences such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Aerosmith, Marshall Tucker Band, and of course Skynyrd. What brought them into Texas Music were bands and artists such as Stoney Larue, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Brandon Rhyder, Reckless Kelly and many more. Staying in touch with there Country roots they perform songs by Haggard, Willie and Hank Jr. The band consists of lead vocals and rhythm guitar Jimmy Sliger, Lead guitarist and Harmony vocals Sean Macy, Bass and harmony vocals Phillip Baker, Drums Dathen Martin. The band formed in 02’ and added lead guitarist Sean Macy in 2007. Macy has moved the band into a mesmerizing state with his creative style and hard to mimic licks. Giving the band the edge they needed to put theme in the crowd pleasing category. You may have seen the band open for acts such as Stoney Larue, Brandon Jenkins, Tommy Alverson, Cooder Graw, Sonny Burgess, Ed Burleson, Joey Green as well as many more. 281 South is not picky where they play as long as there is someone there to listen to their creative style.
