American Young
American Young is technically a duo of a guy and a girl, but since this song is mainly the girl singing, I thought it could fit on Queens of Country. This duo popped into the scene in 2013, with their debut single, "Love Is War". With that sparsely produced song, some critics compated them to The Civil Wars. This song can more easily compared to some of Lady Antebellum's darker songs.

"Soldier's Wife" is a song off of their EP, and is arguably the best song on the record. It starts off with strong production, mainly piano and drums. This song tells the story of a soldier's wife, who doesn't want him to go and doesn't want to be alone. The production grows bigger during the chorus and towards the brige, bringing the intensity of the song up several notches, and bringing the tear factor up as well. This song is special because even though it's about being the wife of a soldier, which many people aren't, it does tell the common story of missing the one you love when they go away. The first lyric, "I don't want to think about having to say goodbye", can resonate with all listeners.
