I grew up in Garland, TX. Just a suburb-chick that learned to sing a soon as I learned how to talk. I remember at family gatherings and on holidays when all the "grown-ups" would sit around jammin' on their guitars singing old songs that I love. I finally memorized a couple of them and one day, I danced around in the middle of them belting it out! My Daddy seemed to be pretty impressed with me at an early age and put me up on stage in all of his bands that played Country, Classic Rock, and Blues. Dad used to tell me he thought a tiny Etta James lived inside of me. He loved to hear me sing the blues. I've never been in a choir... well, not for long, anyway.(If you're keepin' tabs, 2 yrs in elementary school) I was in Marching Band and I credit a lot of what I know about singing to some of the most gifted music directors in the world. They really CARED about music. Just like my Dad did, and Just like I do. It means something to me because they taught me what its like to FEEL it. "Play music for Music's sake." -B. Beshears.
