Mike Powell 

Texas has always turned out great talent. Mike was Born in Orange Texas and raised in Little Cypress and at the age of 3 his mom started teaching him how to harmonize while working around the house.  He began playing at the age of 7 years old at Club 87 in Orange.  His biggest influence on his music career was Billy Jack Sanford and Huey Buxton.  Mike comes from a long line of musicians, he and his brother formed their band and played together well into the 70’s.  In 1985 he formed the 5 o’clock rush band and played for another year.  In his early carrier Mike had the chance to play with great acts as Percy Sledge, Herbie Stutes, Sam Granger, Clint Faulk, Doug Childress and many more.  So as you can see the great talent of Mike Powell will show on in the new band Bayou Rush and he will show his great talents all over the Southeast Texas Music Scene.
