Broke 60 was formed in 2006. The band called themselves Lost Cause for a short period before realizing the name was already taken. So after numerous ideas were tossed around trying to come up with a name to describe the overall group they finally decided on "Broke 60". In case you're wondering where they got the name from..its pretty simple. "Broke" is just bluntly how the guys described their poor broke asses' financial status when they started gettin their feet wet ("We still are!") and "60" comes from "Highway 60" the name of the highway driven down to practice in big ol' Snook, TX. The band has opened up for artists such as Aaron Watson, Todd Fritsch, Brandon Rhyder, No Justice, Josh Abbott, John Anderson, Cory Morrow, Casey Donahue, Reckless Kelly, Roger Creager and have also played venues along with Robert Earl Keen, Eli Young, Jason Boland, Ryan Turner etc. The band has recorded a couple of demos but if you want to hear the true sound then you should try to check them out live! Broke 60 appreciates each and everyone who comes out to a show and takes their time and hard earned money to continue supporting them.
