Grady Skelton
Grady Skelton, rooted in the influences of country, southern rock and Americana, Grady began performing his music throughout the College Station, TX market. Grady recorded his debut, self titled album during late 2009, produced by Rich Brotherton of Ace Recordings, and known as the lead guitar player for Robert Earl Keen. This recording with Rich was the first step in sharing his music with audiences across Texas as it allowed Grady to play music venues and festivals. Grady reached early successes with opportunities to share the stage with artists including Jerry Jeff Walker,Stoney LaRue, Robert Earl Keen, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and The Eli Young Band..Grady also showcased his music in front of thousands of Aggies gathered for the Texas A&M vs. Arkansas game in Cowboys Stadium in October 2010. Grady took to heart what was shared by Rich Brotherton during his first recording experience... "the best part of a first album is that you have your whole life to write it and then it becomes the task of making more and more material to release". While touring, writing and managing his band, Grady created the vision for his sophomore album. This vision of this album would include music released to Texas and Oklahoma radio listeners, to widely promote his style of music and gain new fans. Grady called upon long time supporter and producer, Clay Corn of Ryder Media- Austin, TX (also known as keys player for Pat Green) to help structure and produce this musical project. The anticipated album, "Live Simply" is a meticulous collection of songs that are heartfelt and honest, rowdy, and danceable, displaying a common theme of love and simplicity. Several tracks feature piano and baritone guitar, blended with unique female harmonies that cleverly capture and showcase Grady's best songwriting to date.
