Ian Tonroy
IAN TONROY
Southeast Texas native Ian Tonroy is looking to stir up the music scene in the Lone Star State. Mixing elements of Americana, Blues, Folk, Roots Rock and touches of many other genres, he, and the boys in the band, strive to create a unique, yet, inherently Texas sound. ? Brought up listening to prolific songwriters like Guy Clark, Lyle Lovett and James Taylor, Ian Tonroy has the heart of a storyteller, but his musical tastes don’t stop there. From the beginning, listening to bands like ZZ Top and Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tonroy has had the hunger to rock out; to tell great stories against the backdrop of a robust sound. He draws his greatest inspiration from artists like John Mayer, Dan Auerbach, Tom Petty and Ryan Bingham, artists who all are able to flawlessly dance that delicate dance between great storytelling and artful instrumentation. ? He and the guys are based in San Marcos, Texas. They came together as a group of buddies with shared interests in bands such as the Kings of Leon, The Black Keys and Foo Fighters, bands who’s instrumentation serve to make their storytelling pop. The guys have one common goal: to create thoughtful and intuitive music; to tell a story and rock the house down at the same time.
