JJ Henson Band
With the release of their debut album “On A Night Like This” last year with the help of John Armstrong and Earl Thomas Conley, the band has taken a leap of faith in the Texas Music Scene and has been widely accepted. With shows from local clubs to jumping on as opening an opening act with Pat Green, Jack Ingram, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Miranda Lambert, Earl Thomas Conley and even a place on the Kenny Chesney ticket. The guys have worked extremely hard to make fans at every venue they play.

JJ Henson started off singing Bluegrass Festivals when he was 11 years old. JJ followed his grandfather Dub Grissom, also a musician, from festival to festival. Growing up in that family JJ held on to the addiction of strumming guitars and singing. Later on in JJ's life after serving in the military he decided to go back into music and continue the path his Grandfather laid for him. JJ started off by competing in the Colgate Country Music Showdown where he qualified in the Semi-Finals. Shortly after, he auditioned for the Nashville Star competetion where he alongside Nashville Recording Artist Buddy Jewell both made "cut after cut" until JJ got sent walking. JJ came back to San Antonio where he and a buddy started the first jam sessions which turned into JJ Henson & Snakebite Ridge. During the process of playing the venues around Texas, JJ headed back up to Nashville after being nominated to represent Texas in the Grand Ole Oprys Sing Against The Stars Competetion. JJ placed 14th out of 58 contestants in the nationwide contest.

JJ Henson has some of the greatest musicians in South Texas playing with him every night. The bands goal at every show is to provide great Country / Texas Music while having great sound and an entertaining show. JJ Henson & Snakebite Ridge is definately a show to see.
