Slate Garrett hails from the tiny town of Wapakoneta, Ohio. While most young boys growing up played sports and were involved with school activities, Slate cut his teeth gigging with men twice his age at American Legions and VFW halls on nights and weekends from the age of 12 through high school. But those days were over the day that he graduated, hopped on his bike and was Texas-bound with dreams of his musical future in mind.
