Travis Matte & the Kingpins
A local Louisiana band with much different flair! This band is upbeat and a rising “party crowd” pleaser! Louisiana and abroad can’t get enough of the high energy this band demonstrates on stage. With many original favorites along with all those beloved “old school” tunes, Travis Matte and the Kingpins are sure to entertain any music lover or anyone looking to have a good time!

Bio – Travis Matte & the Kingpins:
Travis Matte’s experience playing fiddle with local Louisiana class acts such as Sheryl Cormier, Belton Richard, Wayne Toups, Blaine Roy, Jason Frey and many others, fueled his passion for music and helped earn him numerous awards from the Cajun French Music Association including four “Fiddler of the Year” titles. Travis eventually set out to learn and play the accordion in 2000 and shortly after formed his own band, Travis Matte & the Zydeco Kingpins. Over the course of countless performances in many cities, festivals and clubs, ten CD’s later and even suffering through the tragic loss of a long-time friend and Kingpin Bass Guitar Player, Matthew Cormier of Church Point (RIP Matt), Travis and the Kingpin Band (Bryson Simoneaux, Drummer; Kevin (Turtle) Cormier, Lead Guitar; Kevin Stelly, Bass Guitar; Jerry Killmer, Keys) owes much of its success to the fans who come out to support local music and purchase CD’s & Merchandise. He also credits the local radio stations and festivals that support Louisiana Music, without those stations and festivals he says local artists would have a difficult time drawing audiences and gaining a fan base. Two performing highlights that stand out for Travis are having the legendary Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin come out to one of his shows in Carencro, LA “What an honor and night to remember!”, says Travis. The other was opening up for Country Music Legend, George Jones. Travis says, “Having grown up listening to these two and performing on the same stage as George was classic!” One thing that sets Travis Matte apart from many others locally is his constant ability to change styles and direction of his music while writing and recording much of his own music. Travis now has his own recording studio in which he has recorded his latest CD’s in and also a few other local musicians’ latest projects. No doubt, music is his way of life and a passion that runs deep! With the Kingpin’s high energy show, original music along with those classic Cajun/Zydeco favorites, Travis Matte & the Kingpins are sure to entertain the best of crowds and festivals!
