Wretched
WRETCHED formed in 2005 and have been recording demos ever since. Steven Funderburk (guitar) and Marshall Wieczorek (drums) knew the first time that they played together that there was a strong connection. Throughout the past few years, the band has progressed in knowledge of music theory and composition, which has been a big benefit in making quality music. ?We always make sure our songs and music are structured very well and are carefully thought out,? states Funderburk. ?We put feeling and soul into our music, and we write it to the best of our ability.? Not only do they practice weekly as a group, but they all maintain strict individual practice routines to progress as musicians; this is proof of their dedication to excel in their craft and not be content to go through the motions. Gaining a strong following in their home state of North Carolina that spans as far as Texas and New York, the band believes that online promotion and communication with fans at shows, have helped in making WRETCHED a household name in the world of metal. Touring with the likes of Kill Whitney Dead, Suffokate and Rose Funeral has helped widen their fanbase. Regardless of their thrash metal sound, they draw a wide variety of audiences, ranging from old school metal fans and head bangers, to hardcore scene kids. WRETCHED is looking to bring back old school metal and color to the traditionally dark scene. ?We have our own sound; it hints at what other bands do, but it?s our own interpretation of this certain type of metal,? states Funderburk. With one listen off their Victory Records debut, The Exodus of Autonomy, fans will experience complete audio mayhem, leaving them craving for more. No question about it, WRETCHED is ready to play music for the musicians and metal for the masses.
