Homer’s goes redneck!

For the last 16 years folks have been gathering in Amarillo, Texas for a party in the pasture like no other. Homer’s Backyard Ball was literally born in the backyard of its founder Travis Homer and has grown to legendary proportions.

Homer’s Backyard Ball might have a few more visitors than it did that first year in Travis’s backyard but the event stays true to its roots. Good people, good music, good food and good times…all for a good cause.

No matter if this is your first Homer’s or your sixteenth you are sure to have a great time. Bring all your friends or come by yourself and make new friends – either way Homer’s is the party of the year.

In addition to the best live music around, you can show off your BBQ skills by competing in Homer’s World Championship Calf Fry and BBQ Cook Off. Categories include: dessert, calf fries, cook’s choice, chicken, chili, pork spare ribs, brisket and a special divisions just for kids under 18.

When you buy that ticket to Homer’s (only $25 in advance) you are helping support a wide range of people in need. The proceeds for the event go to the Homer’s Foundation whose mission is to provide support through grants, fundraisers, and events to community organizations that provide financial assistance and services to area youth for disease research, life opportunities and physical or personal development. Major benefactors have included the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Kiva Shriners, both of which help children and their families. With your ongoing support the Homer’s Foundation can continue to make a difference in the lives of area youth for years to come.
