For thirty years, the Texaco Country Showdown continues its tradition of supporting live country music and offering new country music talent across America the chance to launch their musical careers. With a Grand Prize of $100,000 and cash prizes at various levels, the Texaco Country Showdown is the best high stakes competition in country music with a uniform judging system.

How it works.

The Texaco Country Showdown is a four-level competition beginning in the spring where contestants enter at their country music radio station. State competitions are held in the summer at fairs, theme parks and clubs for a $1,000 prize. The five Regional events take place in the fall. The Regional prize in an all-expense paid trip to the National Final to compete for the Grand Prize of $100,000 and the “Best New Act in Country Music” title.
